| Change Management |
How do you communicate
change? Changes that appear insignificant or inevitable
in the management board room, loom large when it comes
in an e-mail from the top - "We have decided that
effective...." E-mail chatter, lunchroom complaints,
deleted messages, loss of productivity - you know the
process. |
Take another approach
- same issue, same change but instead of an e-mail outlining
the change, employees are invited to participate in a
short dialogue on the topic, asked for their input, given
an opportunity to explore the issue. The sum total of
the input is that change can be made faster and more securely.
There are no complaints and you create a model for others
to follow. |
| Strategic Planning |
You need to establish
a strategic plan for your organization. In the past, your
executive committee would get together and develop it
or your planners would develop it and the executive committee
would modify it and publish it. What would be the level
of ownership in the organization? - maybe 10%. |
Using Open Space Technology,
we gather together a cross-section of employees and use
their energy and enthusiasm to develop a strategic plan
with broad ownership. |
